I went to Mina Navidad a couple of times when the orange creedites and fluorites were coming out. I was surprised to see some of the houses had roofs covered with fluorite crystals. Apparently the fluorite from this mine often comes out a deep purple color but with exposure to sun the purple lightens to almost pink. This specimen is still purple, but lighter than the deep purple when the specimens are fresh from the mine. It is also somewhat lighter than in my movie: the camera seems to get the color wrong. I like the contrast with the white matrix. No damage and 5 x 4 x 2.2 cm.
