This is a large specimen of vanadinite on Quartz from Chihuahua, Mexico. The original label did not specify a mine, but it looks most like material from the San Carlos mine to me. I like the way the small (up to 5 mm) vanadinites are so evenly scattered across the matrix: like someone was peppering a calcite sandwich with vanadinite.
