A lot of amethyst comes from Guanajuato. A lot of acanthite comes from Guanajuato, too. Surprisingly, there are very few specimens of amethyst on acanthite. There are four acanthites on this piece of amethyst. The larger is 5 mm across and the small 4 mm across. They sit happily and haphazardly on top of light purple amethyst points. They are joined by a few scattered calcites and dolomites. The whole piece measures 7.7 x 9 x 4 cm. There is some damaged to the top of the amethyst plate. This could be trimmed off and maybe even make a somewhat more proportional specimen.
