This is an old specimen of native copper from Michigan. It is ex. H.B.Goodenough from New Britain, CT. Mr. Goodenough\'s collection dates back to the late 1890\'s. The calcite crystals mixed in with the branching native copper are cleaved, but the copper has a very nice shape. In person, the color is more flat brown than red...it is funny how the camera changes some colors. The matrix color is spot on. Make sure you check out the old label below, which I had to laminate to preserve...it was very brittle.
