This is a spectacular group of sulfur crystals on a tiny bit of aragonite. Italian sulfurs are considered to be the world's best, but they are becoming harder and harder to find. This specimen, if it were on a larger bit of matrix, would be much more expensive. It has great color and great crystal shape. It is very gemmy and almost perfect. In the back there are a couple of (minor) contact spots. The piece measures 3.8 x 3.4 x 3.8 cm. It is currently mounted on styrofoam and housed in a black plastic cube. I can remove it if you want, but it is actually well protected this way. There is a label from the Robert C. Lambert collection included. It references the old name of Girgenti for Agrigento.
