When I first looked at this piece I thought it was azurite on top of malachite. It isn't really. It is azurite, some of which has altered to malachite. Almost everything you see has an azurite crystal shape. What is remarkable about this piece is the <b><u>color</u></b> of the azurite: it is a dazzling electric blue --- and transparent! The piece is without damage, sits perfectly and measures 9.5 x 6 x 6.5 cm. Choice. Please note that I got this piece with a label saying Bisbee, Arizona, but that is clearly wrong (thanks Mark, for pointing it out!). I have attributed it to Conception del Oro after comparing it to others on mindat and the number of other Mexican specimens the dealer had.
