This very rich matrix specimen of hureaulite, a rare phosphate, comes with a label from Luis Leite at his 2800 Almada, Portugal address. Luis died in 1999, so the specimen is pre-2000. I suspect the mine is the Sapucaia mine, in Sapucaia do Norte, as Luis also sold rose quartz crystals from this locality and the only other area in Galileia that produced hureaulite produced very few specimens. This is a beautiful matrix specimen, with red-pink crystals of hureaulite stuffed into every vug. It really gives you a good feel for what the deposit must have been like. The piece measures 6 x 4.1 x 3.5 cm. No damage. A nice hand specimen of this rare phosphate from Brazil
