This is a wonderful gold <u>crystal</u> --- not nugget --- from Venezuela. Specimens from this placer deposit are almost one hundred percent pure gold. They are typically found in kaolin clay and many have small sand grains of white quartz stuck in them. <BR><BR>
This piece weighs over an eighth of an ounce. Several separate crystals come together at a single point, showing its dendritic growth. It measures 1.1 x 1.1 x 0.4 cm and weighs 4.13 grams.
