Eden Mills, Vermont is world famous for its fabulous specimens of grossular garnets on diopside. The simple crystal form of the garnets and the combination of colors are almost irresistible. This specimen measures 3.1 x 2.5 x 1.8 cm. Unlike so many other specimens, the large garnet on this piece is perfect. This locality has been closed for many years and I have been fortunate enough to acquire a few from local New England collectors over the years. I always wonder which one will be the last one I get.
