I went to Brazil for a mineral show (one of the first they had) in Governador Valadares. I picked up this polished piece of amethyst at the show. It has a very nice mix of good purple and clear sections. It also has parallel tubes of some black mineral running through it. I am not sure what the black mineral is...I remember there was some debate about its identification at the time. Whatever it is, it adds a lot of character to this piece. This would make a very nice centerpiece for a wire wrapper. It is big at 4.4 x 4.1 x 0.4 cm.
