Pyrite, Quartz and Galena (miniature)
4.5 x 5.5 x 5.5 cm
West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia
This is a wonderful specimen of pyrite, galena, and quartz from Indonesia. Some really beautiful pyrites have been coming from Indonesia. Unfortunately, a lot of them are damaged, but some of them, like this one, are also iridescent. So the pyrites have iridescent colors. When you have this and can look closely, you can actually see some beautiful blues and greens and oranges in the mirror finish of this pyrite crystal. It is a pyritohedron. The specimen is really nice all the way around. Beautiful quartz crystals as an accent, and galena also accenting the specimen. There are contacts at the back here where it came right away from the rest of the matrix, but the whole front of this piece is immaculate, about as good as I've seen from this location. Like I said, they're not really good about collecting these undamaged. So this specimen, I think, is a remarkably nice specimen of pyrite, galena, and quartz from Indonesia.
