I think the brief rush of brochantites from the Milpillas Mine in Mexico is over. They redefined the species. Never have such large and colorful brochantite crystals been found before. Brochantite is a monclinic copper sulfide. Before Milpillas, the best specimens were a millimeter or two. This piece has radiating sprays of dark green, lustrous crystals to 6 or 7 millimeters. The color and luster contrast nicely with the earthy brown matrix. 7 x 5 x 3 cm. Actually 8 cm from corner to corner. I don\'t imagine I will be getting any more of these again.
